How to Write a Vinted Description That Actually Sells

The exact structure top Vinted sellers use to write descriptions that get 3x more views and faster sales — plus how I built a tool at Clothingenhancer.com to do it for you in seconds.

Most Vinted descriptions get ignored. Not because the item is bad — because the listing reads like every other one on the platform. Here's the structure that consistently outperforms.

The 5-line structure that converts

Buyers skim. They don't read paragraphs. Your description has to deliver the essentials in the first five lines:

  1. Title line — brand + item + key feature (e.g. "Nike Tech Fleece grey hoodie 🏷️")
  2. Brand: the exact brand name
  3. Type: what kind of item it is (oversized hoodie, slim jeans, etc.)
  4. Color: the dominant color or combo
  5. Condition: only if it's visibly good — if it's average, leave this out

Then add one or two short sentences describing what's obvious in the photo. Fabric, fit, vintage era — only what you can prove.

What kills your listing

  • Walls of text. Anything longer than 80 words gets scrolled past.
  • Marketing fluff. "Perfect for casual wear, soft and durable, pair it with…" — buyers tune this out instantly.
  • Made-up details. Saying "100% cotton" when you don't actually know. One bad review for misrepresentation tanks your seller score.
  • Hashtags. Vinted's algorithm doesn't use them, and they make listings look spammy.

What actually moves items

Three things matter more than your description:

  1. Photos. A clean front shot on a plain background outperforms any description.
  2. Price. Items priced 10–20% below the average for that brand sell within 48h. Check 5–10 sold listings for comparable items before pricing.
  3. Response speed. Vinted boosts sellers who reply within an hour.

The description's job is just to remove doubt — confirm brand, size, condition, and ship times. That's it.

The shipping line everyone forgets

End every description with one short shipping line: "Sending fast 📦" (translated for your country). It signals reliability and Vinted's algorithm has been shown to favor listings where sellers respond and ship quickly.

Write 50 descriptions in 5 minutes

Writing this out for every item is the reason most people stop listing after week two. That's exactly why I built the Vinted description generator at Clothingenhancer.com — you upload a photo of your item and it writes the full description in your country's language, plus suggests a fair second-hand price in your local currency.

It uses the exact structure above, so every listing reads like a top seller's. Upload one photo, get a polished listing in under 10 seconds. You can try it on the free starter credits before committing to a plan.
